Who we are
This website is run by Maldes Advocates (formerly KMT Advocates), Kati House, Ground Floor, Plot 2 Kyagwe Road, Nakasero, Kampala, Uganda. We handle your personal information in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. When you use the contact form, that is:
- your name and email address
- your phone number, if you give it
- the area of law you select and the message you write
If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive the details that come with that contact.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, to arrange a consultation, and to check for conflicts of interest before we act for you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Who else handles it
- Web3Forms delivers contact-form messages to our email inbox.
- Google provides the map on our contact section and the fonts used on this site. Loading them shares your IP address with Google.
- WhatsApp handles any messages you send us there, under its own privacy terms.
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Confidentiality
We treat everything you send us as confidential. Sending a message does not by itself make us your advocates; that happens only when we confirm in writing that we will act for you. Please do not send original documents or highly sensitive details until we have spoken.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to respond and to meet our professional record-keeping obligations. If we go on to act for you, your information becomes part of your client file.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to info@maldesadvocates.com or call +256 703 678 779. You may also complain to Uganda's Personal Data Protection Office.
